PSA1524A is a 72mm x 50 Metre bi-directionally reinforced aluminium foil duct tape coated with a patented cold weather acrylic adhesive formulation. You can apply this aluminium foil tape in various conditions, including cold, damp, and humid environments, even at temperatures as low as -149°C.
This reinforced foil tape was primarily developed as a: vapour seal for reinforced aluminium-faced fibreglass – or mineral wool thermal insulation panels.
This Cold Weather Foil Tape is a high-strength tape that carries the Venture Tapes patented cold weather adhesive system.
The patented adhesive system has been specially designed to make it ideal for bonding at low and high temperatures and in environments of high humidity. Consequently, this foil tape is constructed specifically for use in extreme environments.
This tape has been field tested for applications in temperatures as low as -100 (-20°C) and stable up to 250°F (120°C). This aluminium foil tape is ideal for extreme environments, ensuring secure and reliable bonding in all conditions. As well as being secure and reliable, this foil tape continues to self-cross-link after application. This self-cross-link means that the bond strength increases over time and helps to ensure secure and reliable adhesion to the surface.

Moisture resistance
The ‘cold start’ patented acrylic adhesive is solvent-based and resistant to moisture. What this means to you is that it can be applied even in cold, damp conditions.
Chemical resistance
As well as being resistant to moisture, the adhesive is also resistant to chemicals in situ.
Flame resistance
This tape is also: flame resistant, being class ‘O’ Certified. This certification indicates that the tape provides an additional level of protection in high-risk areas where limited combustibility is required.
Thermal conductivity
These tape properties are ideal when heat reflectance and thermal conductivity are required. It is formulated to protect sensitive components in various applications. Heat reflectance acrylic foil tapes are perfect for heat shielding in demanding applications. When in situ, this tape will help shield components sensitive to heat. This tape also excels in demanding temperatures from: -400°C to 1,200°C.

Solvent based adhesive
As a result of this foil tape being a solvent-based adhesive, it provides immediate waterproofing protection after application, even before they have dried. This feature guarantees that rainwater striking the foil post-application is not a significant issue.

No extra additives are required to apply this tape.

Additional information Storage:
This tape should ideally be stored at temperatures of: 160°C to 250°C. Please note: This aluminium foil tape is unsuitable for attaching Polystyrene to Polystyrene or for use with mesh.
