These tapes are a strong self-amalgamating Polyisobutylene (PIB) elastic tape possessing excellent high voltage properties, ozone resistance, water resistance and the ability to protect against corrosion.

There is no right or wrong side to Polyisobutylene tape, no sticky adhesives to pick up foreign matter or to tangle together during application in close tolerances.

This Self-amalgamating tape quickly fuses into a solid mass. As a result, it protects against ozone, water, sunlight and corrosion, and has a high dielectric strength.

Alongside this it has excellent ageing and weathering characteristics, and conforms to irregular surfaces and shapes, while leaving no sticky residue.

Application uses

The recommended uses for this adhesive tape are:

• Primarily designed for the insulation of joints and terminations of high voltage power and distribution cable systems
• Acts as an excellent water tight seal in many jointing applications – especially in polyethylene sleeve joints on telephone cables both above and below ground
• Particularly good for pipe protection against corrosion and damage
• Repairs leaking plumbing joints, water pipes, and garden hoses
• Ideal for numerous caravan, camping and leisure activities
• Emergency repairs to radiator / Engine hose and auto electronics
