PSA4000G is a 25 metre continuous roll of 100mm self adhesive hook and loop tape, supplied in individual rolls of hook or loop in both black and white. Our stock adhesive is rubber-based, but acrylic adhesive can be made available on request, as can other colours.

Maximum Width, Maximum Hold

The 100mm tape is the widest and strongest self adhesive hook and loop tape in our range. At 4 inches across, it delivers five times the adhesive contact area of our 20mm tape and double that of the 50mm — providing the most secure peel-and-stick fastening available for heavy, large, or structurally demanding applications.

Despite the heavy-duty performance, application follows the same tool-free method as our narrower rolls. Peel the release paper, position the tape, and press firmly across the full width. No drilling, no mechanical fixings, and no wet adhesives to cure.

Size and Roll Information

  • Width: 100mm / 4 inches / 10cm
  • Length: 25 metres per roll
  • Supplied as: Individual rolls of hook (male) or loop (female) — or order both together
  • Colours: Black or white as standard (other colours available on request)
  • Adhesive: Rubber-based pressure sensitive (acrylic available on request)

At 100mm wide, a single strip of this tape covers a substantial mounting surface in one pass. This reduces the number of strips needed per panel, speeds up installation, and eliminates the alignment issues that can arise when running multiple narrower strips in parallel. For many heavy-duty mounting jobs, one well-placed strip of 100mm tape does the work of two or three strips of 38mm.

What Is 100mm Hook & Loop Tape Best For?

The 100mm width exists for applications where nothing less will do — where the items being mounted are heavy, large-format, or load-bearing, and where the fastening needs to hold with absolute reliability over weeks, months, or years of continuous use.

Full-panel mounting and wall systems:

  • Exhibition wall panels and modular builds — the go-to tape for professional exhibition contractors mounting full-size wall panels, graphic wraps, and structural fascia to modular stand systems. A single 100mm strip running along the top edge of a panel can support loads that would require two or three runs of narrower tape. This simplifies installation, speeds up build times, and produces a cleaner finish with fewer visible tape lines on the reverse.
  • Backdrop and scenic walls — mount large-format printed backdrops, fabric wall coverings, and scenic elements for conferences, theatre productions, film sets, and broadcast studios. The 100mm width holds heavy materials flat against the wall with no sagging, buckling, or rippling across the surface.
  • Retail wall systems — secure full-height branded wall panels, category graphics, and promotional wall wraps in retail stores, showrooms, and concession spaces. The wide tape keeps panels flush and gap-free, even across large wall spans, and allows complete wall refreshes during overnight refit windows.

Acoustic treatment and soundproofing:

  • Large acoustic panels — mount oversized fabric-wrapped acoustic absorbers, bass traps, and diffuser panels to studio walls, concert halls, auditoriums, and open-plan offices. At 100mm wide, the tape provides enough bonding surface to support heavy, dense acoustic materials without supplementary mechanical fixings — keeping the panel surface clean and unbroken for optimal sound absorption.
  • Soundproofing boards — attach mass-loaded vinyl barriers, dense foam boards, and composite soundproofing panels to partition walls, ceilings, and floors in recording studios, home cinemas, and noise-sensitive commercial spaces.
  • Ceiling baffles and overhead absorbers — secure suspended acoustic baffles and overhead panels to ceiling structures. The 100mm width provides a confident hold that prevents panels working loose over time under their own weight and gravity.

Industrial and commercial maintenance:

  • Heavy equipment enclosures — fasten large access panels, machine guards, dust covers, and inspection hatches on industrial machinery, electrical switchgear, HVAC units, and production line equipment. The 100mm tape allows maintenance engineers to remove and refit heavy covers in seconds — dramatically faster than unbolting fixed panels — while still providing a secure closure during operation.
  • Insulation and thermal cladding — mount rigid insulation boards, thermal barrier panels, and fire-rated cladding to walls, ceilings, pipework housings, and equipment enclosures. The full 4-inch width minimises the number of fixing runs needed per board and prevents the bowing or warping that can occur with narrower mounting strips on large, rigid panels.
  • Warehouse signage and safety boards — secure large health and safety signs, operational instruction boards, zone identification panels, and emergency procedure displays to warehouse walls, factory partitions, and racking end-caps. The tape supports the weight of heavy sign materials including Dibond, Correx, and thick Foamex, and allows signs to be updated or replaced without leaving damage.

Specialist and bespoke applications:

  • Vehicle and marine interiors — mount wall panels, headliners, trim sections, and storage systems inside commercial vehicles, caravans, motorhomes, and boat cabins. The 100mm width covers large panel areas in a single pass, reducing installation time in confined spaces where working with multiple narrow strips is impractical.
  • Cleanroom and laboratory environments — attach removable wall coverings, equipment screens, and modular partition panels in environments where mechanical fixings create contamination risks. The tape provides a sealed, flush mounting that can be removed without leaving particulate residue.
  • Temporary structures and pop-up installations — secure wall panels, flooring sections, and structural cladding in temporary buildings, pop-up shops, and festival installations. The 100mm tape provides the holding strength of a semi-permanent fixing with the removability of a temporary one.

Why 100mm Outperforms Multiple Narrower Strips

When mounting large panels, there’s a natural temptation to use multiple runs of narrower tape (for instance, three strips of 38mm) rather than a single run of 100mm. While both approaches can work, the 100mm tape has distinct practical advantages.

A single wide strip maintains consistent contact across its full 4-inch surface, with no gaps or uneven spacing between runs. This produces a more uniform load distribution, eliminates the risk of panels bowing between fixing points, and gives a cleaner reverse finish. It also halves or thirds the number of application passes — a meaningful time saving on large-scale installations where dozens or hundreds of panels are being mounted across a show floor or commercial interior.

For the heaviest items, combining 100mm strips with our 50mm tape at secondary fixing points provides both primary support and redundancy.

Built for Harsh and Variable Environments

The 100mm tape is water-resistant and performs reliably across a wide temperature range, making it suitable for warehouses, plant rooms, vehicle interiors, covered outdoor structures, and environments with fluctuating humidity. The hook and loop material is machine washable for applications where periodic cleaning is required.

For installations in the most demanding conditions — permanent outdoor exposure, prolonged UV, extreme heat or cold, chemical contact, or coastal/marine environments — we strongly recommend the acrylic adhesive version of this tape. Acrylic provides significantly superior long-term durability, UV resistance, and thermal stability compared with rubber adhesive, and is the right choice for any 100mm installation expected to remain in place for years without maintenance. Rubber-Based Pressure Sensitive Adhesive

The standard rubber adhesive delivers high initial tack and strong sustained performance across all common smooth, clean substrates, including:

  • Metal (mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, powder-coated, anodised)
  • Glass
  • Rigid plastics (ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, fibreglass/GRP)
  • Painted walls, plasterboard, and sealed MDF
  • PVC and uPVC
  • Ceramic and glazed tiles
  • Composite panels (Dibond, aluminium composite)
  • Low energy surfaces such as polypropylene, polystyrene, acetyl, PVA (polyvinyl acetate), and Teflon

The adhesive’s compatibility with composite panels and GRP is particularly relevant at this width, as these are the materials most commonly used for the large exhibition panels, vehicle body sections, and industrial enclosures where 100mm tape is typically specified.

Reliable Performance Through Repeated Use

PSA4000G is manufactured for high cycle life applications. The hook and loop grip maintains effective holding strength through hundreds of fastening and unfastening cycles, making it suitable for panels, covers, and enclosures that are opened and closed as part of regular operational workflows. Exhibition panels that are mounted and stripped across an entire season of trade shows, machine guards that are removed during weekly maintenance routines, and acoustic panels that are repositioned during office reconfigurations will all perform consistently throughout their working life.

Application Instructions

  1. Surface preparation is critical at 100mm width. Any contamination — dust, grease, moisture, silicone residue, or surface oxidation — trapped under a 100mm strip compromises a large bonding area. Clean the surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate degreaser. On metal surfaces, lightly abrade with fine scotch-brite or 400-grit sandpaper to key the surface, then wipe clean and allow to dry completely.
  2. Measure and mark the exact tape position before peeling. At 100mm wide, the adhesive makes firm contact instantly and cannot be repositioned without damage. Use a pencil line or low-tack masking tape as a placement guide to ensure straight, accurate alignment first time.
  3. Peel the release paper from the adhesive backing. For long runs, peel progressively — expose 15–20cm at a time and press into place in sections to avoid the tape folding onto itself or misaligning.
  4. Press firmly across the full width using a rubber roller, wallpaper seam roller, or the flat edge of a wide plastic scraper. Apply heavy, even pressure from the centre outwards to push trapped air to the edges. At 100mm wide, hand pressure alone will not deliver consistent contact — a roller is strongly recommended.
  5. Allow a full 48 hours before loading. The wider adhesive surface takes longer to achieve maximum bond strength than narrower tapes. For heavy items, installations in cold environments (below 10°C), or surfaces with even slight texture, extend to 72 hours. Where possible, support heavy panels with temporary props or clamps during the curing period.

For comprehensive surface preparation and application guidance, see our Surface Preparation and Application Guide.

Please note: This tape is not recommended for fabrics, flexible vinyl, or underwater use. For permanent outdoor installations or prolonged UV exposure, the acrylic adhesive version is essential — the standard rubber adhesive will degrade under sustained sunlight.

Choosing the Right Width for Your Application

The 100mm tape is designed for the heaviest, largest, and most demanding applications in our range. If you don’t need the full 4-inch width, stepping down to a narrower tape will reduce material cost without compromising performance.

Our 50mm tape is the next step down and handles the majority of heavy-duty professional applications — exhibition panels, acoustic boards, and industrial enclosures. The 38mm is well suited to uPVC work, automotive trim, and heavy domestic mounting. For lighter jobs, our 25mm and 20mm rolls cover general-purpose and domestic use.

For individual fastening points rather than continuous runs, our self adhesive hook and loop coins in 13mm, 16mm, and 22mm diameters offer a faster alternative for lighter applications.
